The Martin County Health Department invites everyone to visit the Health & Wellness Pavilion during the Harvest Festival on Friday, September 18, from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The pavilion will be located at 42 East Main Street in Inez, beside the new courthouse.
Community organizations and health vendors will be available both days with helpful information, local resources, interactive activities and services for the entire family. Visitors can also receive free A1C and cholesterol checks while learning more about programs that support healthier lives in Martin County.
There are even more reasons to know your numbers! Everyone who receives an A1C check will be entered into an additional drawing for a $100 prize. Plus, every 20th person to receive an A1C check will receive a $25 gift card.
On Friday, visitors can hop on the smoothie bikes and pedal their way to creating their very own healthy smoothie. It is a fun way for both children and adults to get moving while enjoying a delicious drink.
The fun continues Saturday with hula hoop and jump rope competitions. First-place winners in each competition will receive $100, and second-place winners will receive $50. Everyone is encouraged to participate, have fun and cheer on the competitors.
Visitors should begin at the Martin County Health Department booth to pick up a wellness passport. Take the passport to the participating vendors, learn about the services they provide and collect stamps along the way. Turn in completed passports for a chance to win exciting prizes, including a 65-inch television, Apple Watches, gas cards and more.
Be sure to grab a swag bag while supplies last—and look inside carefully! Golden tickets will be hidden in select bags on both Friday and Saturday. Anyone who finds one can bring it to the Martin County Health Department booth to claim an instant prize.
While visiting the booth, stop for a photo at the selfie area and help capture the fun of this year’s pavilion. With health screenings, community resources, activities, giveaways and opportunities to win, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
