Lawrence Ratcliff, 59, passed away on June 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and lasting memories that will live on in all who knew him.

He was born Nov. 14, 1966.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Ratcliff; his father, June Ratcliff; and two nephews, Josh Ratcliff and Brandon Hunt.

He leaves behind his loving mother, Nettie Ratcliff; his brothers, Robert Ratcliff and Jerry Ratcliff; and his sisters, Brenda Johnson, Patty Johnson, Louisa Ratcliff and Karen Newsome. He also leaves behind his three sons who were the pride of his life: P.J. Ratcliff (Kayla), Nick Ratcliff (Heather) and Lonnie Johnson (Tara).

Lawrence was a proud grandfather to Cameron, Eason, Bohdi, Tanner, Tucker, Tinsley, Allison and Gracelyn, and each of them held a special place in his heart.

Family was the center of Lawrence’s life, and he loved them deeply. He shared a strong connection with his family. He took great pride in being present, supportive and creating lasting memories together. He held a special place in his heart for all of his nieces and nephews and cherished those relationships throughout his life.

Lawrence never met a stranger and always seemed to have a house full of kids. He welcomed them with open arms and loved each one as if they were his own children. Junior Johnson, David Orsbon, George Ray Ball, Derrick Ratcliff, and Shaun Ball held a special place in his life, along with many others who found love, guidance, laughter, and a second home through him.

Lawrence’s kindness, loyalty, and devotion reached far beyond blood and touched countless lives. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Webb Freewill Baptist Church in Crum, West Virginia, with Ken Allen officiating. Burial followed at the Webb Cemetery in Crum. Pallbearers were Lonnie Johnson, Shane Ratcliff, Buster Hale, Braden Ratcliff, Briar May, Eason Ratcliff and Cameron Ratcliff. Arrangements under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
