Meet the candidates running for Martin County Magistrate

INEZ — This week’s “Meet the Candidates” features races for Martin County Magistrate and Martin County Constable.

Candidates responded to a survey provided by the Mountain Citizen to let voters know who they are and what they stand for. Their responses below appear in the order that candidates will be listed on the ballots.

District 1 Magistrate

Two Republican candidates are running for District 1 Magistrate: Incumbent Jared Goforth and Cody Slone.

Both Goforth and Slone responded to the survey.

District 2 Magistrate

Eight Republican candidates are running for District 2 Magistrate: Kermit Howell, Rush Michael Chapman, Rex Endicott, Jimmy Don Kerr, Joe Ed Maynard, Dustin Dials, Albert Butcher and Lois Walker.

Four of the eight — Howell, Chapman, Maynard and Butcher — responded to the survey.

District 3 Magistrate

Three Republican candidates are running for District 3 Magistrate: Tracy Spence, incumbent Derrick Stepp and Randy Joe “Cat” Fannin.

Stepp responded to the survey.

District 4 Magistrate

Four Republicans are running for District 4 Magistrate: Virgil Eugene Jude, incumbent Junior Hunt, Gary Wayne Cox and Billy Prentice Meade.

Jude and Cox responded to the survey.

District 5 Magistrate

Three Republicans are running for District 5 Magistrate: Ronald Workman, incumbent Mark Blackburn and Lacy Steven Reed.

Workman and Blackburn responded to the survey.
