Remains found in Prestonsburg identified as woman missing since 2021: Police continue search for answers
CITIZEN STAFF REPORT PRESTONSBURG — Kentucky State Police (KSP) Pikeville Post confirmed Thursday that the human remains discovered April 22 in Prestonsburg have been positively identified as those of a woman who mysteriously disappeared two years ago. The deceased is Kandi Gonzalez, last seen June 1, 2021 in the Abbott Creek Road area in Prestonsburg.

Districtwide painting on state roads begins this week
HIGHWAY DISTRICT 12 — Motorists in Johnson, Floyd, Lawrence, Martin, Pike, Letcher and Knott counties can expect a slow-moving truck and equipment caravan as districtwide paint striping begins this week. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 12 announced that crews would be painting yellow and white lines along state routes over the next six to eight weeks.
