Warfield to raise new flag Saturday
The City of Warfield invites the public to a flag-raising ceremony Saturday at 10 a.m. at City Hall. Members of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) will assist with raising the new flag and will take custody of the existing flag for proper disposal. The new flag was donated by James Ayers and First State Bank.

DAV awards scholarships
Coalition Better Health Care and DAV Chapter 18, based in Auxier, Kentucky, presented their first-ever $500 scholarship to Martin County High School senior Dennison Davis for being his class valedictorian. The group presented scholarships to valedictorians in Johnson and Floyd counties also.
