CITIZEN STAFF REPORT
Registration opens July 22 at 8 a.m. for a Popup Driver Licensing event set for Aug. 5 in Lovely.
The event will take place at the Rufus Reed Public Library, 1442 Riverfront Road for residents of Martin County.
Appointments are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made online: drive.ky.gov/Drivers/Pages/Popup-Map.aspx
The Popup Driver Licensing Program is a traveling service that brings all the services offered in Driver Licensing Regional Offices to local communities that do not have a regional office. Upgrade to a REAL ID license. Request an 8-year license if you are due to renew. Update your name or address. Renew your CDL.
While Popup events are by appointment only, staff may be able to take a limited number of walk-ins at each event but there is no guarantee. Residents who choose to walk in at a Popup event should communicate with staff, who will indicate the possibility and wait time for service.
Acceptable forms of payment include debit/credit card, check, and money order. The program is not accepting cash payments. A pricing list is available at drive.ky.gov/RealID/Pages/Pricing.aspx.
Residents can also skip a trip to a regional office or Popup event and renew online or by mail. Most credentials can be completed from the comfort of home. To learn more, visit drive.ky.gov/Drivers/Pages/Drivers-License-Compare.aspx.
