PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A 74-year-old Pikeville man died Thursday after an ATV overturned on an off-road trail in Pike County.

Billy Tackett was operating an ATV on a trail off Booker Fork when the vehicle went off the side of the trail and overturned, according to Kentucky State Police Post 9.

KSP was notified of the crash at approximately 5:42 p.m. Aug. 27.

The Pike County Coroner’s Office pronounced Tackett dead at the scene.

KSP Trooper Cameron Whitaker is investigating the crash. Personnel from KSP Post 9 and local first responders assisted at the scene.
