EASTERN, Ky. — A 48-year-old McDowell man died Saturday after his vehicle left the roadway and overturned on Kentucky Route 680 in Floyd County.

Christopher Smith was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo southbound on Route 680 in the Eastern community when the vehicle exited the roadway and overturned, according to Kentucky State Police Post 9.

KSP was notified of the crash at approximately 1:53 p.m. Aug. 29.

The Floyd County Coroner’s Office pronounced Smith dead at the scene.

KSP Trooper Michael McKinney is investigating the crash. Personnel from KSP Post 9 and local first responders assisted at the scene.
