Judy Gail Belcher Maynard
1958—2026
“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.” Proverbs 31:10
Judy Gail Belcher Maynard, 68, of Dunlow, West Virginia, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Aug. 16, 2026.
Judy was born as winter warmed into the promise of spring on April 15, 1958. She was the blessing of the late James and Gertrude Block Belcher.
Judy enjoyed a happy childhood in a large family, and with nine siblings, she never got lonely.
At the young age of 19, Judy became the blushing bride of the late Harry Truman Maynard. Together, the two shared 36 cherished years of marriage before his passing in 2013.
Judy found her greatest joy in the simple things in life and was happiest outdoors, tending to her flowers and caring for her yard. When she was indoors, Judy enjoyed watching the news, Shepherds Chapel Bible study hour, Criminal Minds, and other investigative television programs.
Judy never had an unkind word for anyone and will be fondly remembered for her infectious laugh and caring nature. She was a beautiful example of a devoted wife, loving mother and cherished grandmother. Judy poured her heart into caring for her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and the time she spent with them brought her immeasurable happiness.
Although she will be greatly missed, her family takes great comfort in knowing she has made it home and is at peace.
Judy’s memory will live on in the lives of her children and in the hearts of her grandchildren for many years to come.
In addition to her husband and parents, Judy is enjoying a Heavenly reunion with brothers Jimmy Belcher, Lloyd Ray Belcher, Michael Belcher and Donnie Belcher and sister Dorothy Perry.
Judy is survived by one son Cain Maynard and his wife Mara of Kermit, West Virginia; her daughter Misty Justice and her husband Jeremy of Williamson, West Virginia; her precious grandchildren, Austin Maynard, Gavin Maynard, Elijah Justice and Katie Justice; one brother, Clarence Belcher of Dunlow, West Virginia; and sisters Wanda Walker, Ann Smith and her husband Dickie of Belfry, and Debbie Fairchild of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are brothers-in-law Clyde Maynard and his wife Connie of Fort Gay, West Virginia, and Claude Maynard and his wife Paula of Johnstown, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Janice Justice of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members and friends.
