
Melinda (Endicott) Moore
1960—2026
Melinda (Endicott) Moore, 66, of Debord, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born Jan. 16, 1960, in Martin County, she was the daughter of the late James Roy Endicott and Pauline Marcum Endicott.
Melinda dedicated much of her life to serving others and her community. She worked with Martin County Head Start, where she touched the lives of many children and families throughout the community. She was also a devoted member of the Martin County REACT & Rescue Squad for more than 40 years, faithfully serving as secretary. Her commitment to helping others and serving her community was an important part of who she was.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Jimmy Endicott, Bruce Endicott, Carl Endicott, James Roy Endicott Jr., Robert Endicott, Dale Endicott and Charlene Endicott.
Melinda is survived by her loving husband, Pete Darwen Moore of Debord; two sons, Pete D. Moore Jr. and Ryan Alexander (Nikki) Moore, both of Debord; and her cherished grandchildren, Hannah Moore, Emma Moore, Chase Moore, Ryan Hunter Moore, Lindsay Moore, Pete D. Moore III, Chloe Moore, Waylon Breed, Lorieli Winfree and Mallory Reed.
She is also survived by three siblings: Rex (Wanda) Endicott, Bobby Jo (Bernice) Endicott, and Danny (Coleen) Endicott.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026, at the Bethel United Baptist Church in Inez with Morgan Kirk and Jerry Pack officiating. Burial followed at the Moore Cemetery on White Oak in Pilgrim. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
