George Fletcher
1954—2026

George Fletcher, 72, of Inez, passed away July 20, 2026, in Ashland.

Born in 1954 in Martin County, he was the son of the late Richard and Polly Nelson Fletcher.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Forrest and Sheldon Fletcher; sisters, Janie Fletcher, Nancy Alice Fletcher and Vinnie Pinson; and grandson, George Fletcher III.

George is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Stacy Fletcher of Inez. He also leaves behind his three sons, Steven (Melinda) Fletcher, Bobby Joe Fletcher and George (Janie) Fletcher, all of Inez; and his daughter, Renee (Mikeal) Pinson of Inez.

Additional survivors include his four granddaughters whom he thought hung the stars, Julia Pinson, Marlie Jo Fletcher, London Pinson and Desiray Fletcher; and his only great-granddaughter, who in his eyes hung the moon, Delilah Jo Jude. His brother, Dewey (Kathy) Fletcher of Inez, also survives.

George’s passing leaves behind so many friends and family to honor and cherish his memories.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Crum Funeral Home with Buddy Stacy officiating. Burial followed at Mountain Valley Memorial Garden in Inez. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
