INEZ — Martin County incoming freshman Chucky Leonard continues to gain recognition on the football circuit before playing his first high school snap. He recently received invitations to two exposure events: EXACT X1 Showcase Camp and the inaugural Freshman All-American Game in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound lineman received an invitation to the EXACT X1 Showcase following his participation in the Kentucky All-State Game. According to the invitation, the one-day showcase connects athletes with NCAA and NAIA programs and college coaches. With several EXACT X1 Showcase locations nationwide, Leonard has yet to choose where he will attend.

Come December, Leonard will attend the first Freshman All-American Game in Myrtle Beach. Powered by Diamond Sports Group and D1 Savage, the event is geared toward ninth-grade football players competing at a high level. Organizers will distribute game film and roster information to a network of college programs. The event will be covered by recruiting outlets, offering athletes opportunities to earn additional recognition.

The invitations add to a busy stretch for Leonard, who competed alongside Martin County teammate Braxton Pack in the D1 Savage All-American Games in Virginia Beach in May. The pair helped their team capture a 21-8 championship victory.

Leonard will enter his freshman season at Martin County High School this fall as a lineman already drawing attention outside Eastern Kentucky.
