Wilma ‘Cricket’ Toler
1934—2026

Mrs. Wilma “Cricket” Toler, age 91, of Sedalia, formerly of Martin County, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at her residence.

Mrs. Toler was a faithful member of His House Ministries and the Inez Church of God. She dedicated many years of her life as a caregiver, compassionately serving others with love and kindness. A devoted follower of Christ, she faithfully taught Sunday School for many years, sharing God’s Word and encouraging generations in their walk of faith.

Cricket was known for her generous heart and servant’s spirit. She loved preparing large meals for family, friends, and her church community, and her famous homemade dumplings became a cherished tradition at church fundraisers. Whether serving a meal, teaching a lesson, or caring for someone in need, she reflected Christ’s love in all she did. She touched every life she encountered and leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, selfless service, and unconditional love.

She was born Aug. 15, 1934, in Beauty, to the late J.B. Anderson and Dolly Crum Anderson.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Toler of Sedalia, Angela Gail (Eddie) Goble of Louisa, Rhonda (Jim) Carter of Alderson, West Virginia, Pamela (Keith) Burgess of Buckeye, West Virginia, Kem (Pam) Toler Tabor of Church Hill, Tennessee, and Melina (Chris) Barker of Lake City, Florida; one brother, Ronald Anderson of Washington; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and by the many children who lovingly knew her as “Mama” and “Mawee.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Cecil Wirt Toler; her brothers, Jim Anderson, John C. Anderson and Bob Anderson; and her sister, Dolly Jane Mills.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Louisa Church of God, 9 Swan Lane, Louisa, at noon Saturday, July 18, 2026, with Pastor Paul Stepp presiding. A burial of her ashes will follow at Mills Horn Crum Cemetery, Crum Branch Road, Inez.
