Brenda Lou (Tackett) Sammons
1950—2026

Brenda Lou (Tackett) Sammons, age 76, passed away July 13, 2026, at the Martin County Health Care Facility in Inez.

Born February 4, 1950, in Martin County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd T. Earl Tackett Jr. and Vivian (Marcum) Tackett.

In addition to her father, Brenda was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Tackett.

She is survived by her mother; her husband, Ewell Clay Sammons of Salyersville; two sons, Steve (Jeanna) Sammons of Salyersville and Todd (Tinnah) Sammons of Morehead; one brother, James Tackett of Atlanta; and two sisters, Debbie Haertzen of Crestwood and Sherrie Kemper of Louisville. Brenda is also survived by seven grandchildren, Logan Sammons, Kaitlyn (John) Adams, Skyler (Brianna) Sammons, Raegan Sammons, Brayden Sammons, Noah Sammons and Eli Sammons, and four great-grandchildren, Finn Adams, Maisy Adams, Everly Sammons, and Valle Kayte Adams.

Brenda’s favorite things included the Kentucky Wildcats, visiting the beach, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Crum Funeral Home in Inez with Weyman McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 15, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
