PAINTSVILLE — The Martin County 12U softball All-Stars competed in the District 3 tournament over the weekend at Johnson Central.

Martin County opened tournament play June 26 against Pikeville and fell 12-2.

Kentley Marcum and Hope Dials scored Martin County’s two runs. Alicemae Gilkey singled, and Gabby Mann added a hit for Martin County.

Marcum drew two walks, and Sarah McCoy also worked two walks. Lylyann Endicott was hit by a pitch. Kaylee Runyon and Carolyn Dalton each drew a walk.

Martin County returned to action Saturday against Belfry in the second round. The All-Stars fell to the Pirates to bring their tournament run to a close. No stats were available for the matchup.
