LOUISA — Kentucky State Police arrested a Lawrence County man Thursday after an undercover investigation into the online distribution of child sexual abuse material.
Ricky Henry, 39, faces nine counts of possessing matter portraying a minor under the age of 12 in a sexual performance following an investigation conducted through the Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
Investigators launched the case after discovering someone allegedly uploading sexually explicit images involving juveniles online.
Troopers executed a search warrant June 25 at Henry’s residence in Louisa, where they seized electronic equipment they believe was used to facilitate the alleged crimes. Authorities submitted the equipment to the Kentucky State Police forensic laboratory for examination.
Each charge is a Class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison upon conviction.
Police lodged Henry in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. The investigation remains ongoing.
