Three Tug Valley standouts earn All-State softball honors

Tug Valley placed three players on the West Virginia Sports Writers Association Class A All-State softball teams, with senior Bailee Hall and sophomore Katie Hall earning first-team honors and sophomore Emma Lackey receiving honorable mention recognition.

Bailee Hall was a repeat member of the Class A All-State first team. The Tug Valley athlete ended her spectacular high school career as a four-time honoree on the top unit.

Bailee Hall, who was selected as pitcher and had 11 wins with 120 strikeouts and a 1.56 earned run average in 80-2/3 innings, also delivered at the dish. Along with stealing 34 bases and driving in 27, she had 22 doubles, two triples and 13 home runs. She had a fantastic batting average of .634 this season.

Bailee Hall finished her career with 40 home runs.

She is taking her talents to West Virginia State University this year, where her sister Autumn also played softball and graduated.

Her cousin and teammate, Katie Hall, a sophomore infielder, hit .421 this season with six homers, 14 doubles and three triples. She had a team-best 40 RBIs.

Lackey, a sophomore pitcher/infielder, earned recognition after excelling both in the circle and at the plate. She went 11-5 with a 2.14 ERA in the circle this spring. Lackey struck out 170 batters and walked just 31 in 91-2/3 innings. At the plate, she also hit .356 with four home runs, five doubles and two triples and had 28 RBIs.
