CITIZEN STAFF REPORT

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Austin Harless

Austin Harless, 31, of Debord, was arrested June 16 in Inez on a warrant issued by Lawrence District Court. Deputy Billy Wells served the warrant at 9:45 a.m.

Shawn Michael Moore

Shawn Michael Moore, 26, of Inez, was arrested June 15 at Quail Hollow Apartments in Inez and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, first offense.

According to the arrest citation, Sheriff Kirk responded to a reported fight at the apartment complex and found Moore lying on the concrete and appearing highly intoxicated. Kirk reported that Moore was unable to answer questions, could not walk and had a strong odor of alcohol on his person.

“I had to have him medically cleared before taking him to jail,” Kirk stated in the report.

Kassandra Hamilton

Kassandra Hamilton, 33, of Lovely, was arrested June 10 at the Martin County Sheriff’s Office in Inez on a bench warrant for failure to appear. Deputy David Adams served the warrant after Hamilton turned herself in.

Kenis Casey Bishop

Kenis Casey Bishop, 45, of Beauty, was arrested June 9 on Poplar Fork in Beauty and charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), minor injury.

Deputy J.C. Kirk responded to a domestic complaint and reported that no one answered the door when he arrived. After entering the residence, he found Bishop seated in the kitchen. The deputy noted that Bishop had glossy eyes, was unsteady on his feet and admitted to consuming alcohol.

According to the arrest report, a female at the residence stated that Bishop got in her face, leaned against her body and refused to move. She alleged that he grabbed her arms, leaving red marks, and attempted to take a phone from her hands while she was trying to call 911.

All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
