WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — The Mingo County grand jury returned indictments against 51 individuals during sessions held May 19 and May 26. Charges include strangulation, sexual abuse by a parent or guardian, kidnapping, computer fraud, money laundering and drug-related offenses.
May 19
Janet Renee Berry: possession of Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to deliver and possession of a Schedule V controlled substance (Gabapentin) with intent to deliver.
Shawna Marie Canta: felony escape from custody.
Eddie Earl Davis: two counts of failure to provide notice of sex offender/registration changes, second offense.
John Wesley Hager: two counts of failure to provide notice of sex offender/registration changes, first offense.
James Victor Hash: destruction of property (less than $2,500), wanton endangerment and attempted murder.
Denver Ray Hatfield: threats of terrorist acts and retaliation against a public employee.
Kevin Eugene Johnson: burglary, grand larceny, breaking and entering, conspiracy (burglary), conspiracy (grand larceny), conspiracy (breaking and entering), and fleeing with reckless indifference to others.
William Earl Kiper: felony escape from custody.
Brittany Dawn Lovejoy: burglary, grand larceny, breaking and entering, conspiracy (burglary), conspiracy (grand larceny), and conspiracy (breaking and entering).
Rita Lynn Maynard: possession of Schedule II controlled substance (fentanyl) with intent to deliver, possession of Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to deliver, and possession of Schedule IV controlled substance (Klonopin) with intent to deliver.
Henry Lee Messer: strangulation and malicious or unlawful assault.
Chase Michael Prater: malicious wounding.
Jason David Riffe: reckless indifference to others and fleeing on foot.
Mark Anthony Runyon: grand larceny and felony escape from custody.
