PHELPS — The Martin County Lady Cardinals closed out the regular season in dominant fashion May 14, sweeping a doubleheader over Phelps on the road.

In Game 1, the Lady Cardinals exploded offensively while Alyssa Mullins tossed a shutout in the circle with two strikeouts.
Makenna Marcum led the way at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four singles, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Bella Muncy went 2-for-4 with two triples and scored three times. Haley Robinson finished 2-for-5 with a double, single and three runs scored.
Mia Fields had another huge performance, going 4-for-5 with three singles, a double and two runs scored. Sophie Harless added a strong outing at the plate as well, finishing 3-for-5 with two singles, a double and two runs scored.
Bri Muncy collected a single and a triple while scoring twice. Mullins helped her own cause offensively, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple. Hallee Preece added a single in the win.

The Lady Cardinals carried the momentum into Game 2 as Robinson struck out four batters in her start before Mullins came on in relief to earn the save with six strikeouts.
Marcum went 1-for-3 with a single and a run scored. Bella Muncy stayed hot at the plate. She finished 2-for-3 with a triple, single and two runs scored.
Robinson added a double and scored once. Fields continued her standout day by going 2-for-3 with a single, double and two runs scored.
Harless added a single. Bri Muncy collected a hit and scored once. Raegan Hale turned in a perfect outing at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a triple, single and a run scored.
Mullins reached base three times with a single and two walks while also dominating in relief to help secure the doubleheader sweep for Martin County.
