INEZ — Alyssa Mullins is the Kirk & Crum Law Office Player of the Week.
Mullins helped lead the Lady Cardinals to a 2-1 week highlighted by a historic 14-12 district win over the Magoffin County Hornets.
Mullins collected two hits and four RBIs against the Hornets, including a go-ahead stand-up triple to the right-field fence in the seventh inning. Her three-bagger pocketed three runs with bases loaded for a one-run lead. Teammate Raegan Horn batted her in for a 14-12 advantage and proved to be the game-winning sequence.
Mullins also pitched a complete game with five strikeouts in the win.
Against Pike County Central, Mullins drew a walk and struck out three batters in four innings pitched. She closed the week by going 2-for-4 with two singles and two RBIs in an 8-6 win over Fairview while earning another complete-game victory in the circle with three strikeouts and only two earned runs allowed.
