NAUGATUCK, W.Va. — No. 2 Class A Tug Valley rode dominant pitching and a Senior Night surge from Bailee Hall to a pair of wins to close April. The Lady Panthers split four games in the stretch, including a one-hit loss to Mingo Central and a late-inning setback against Class 3A Chapmanville.
Tug Valley 13, Shelby Valley 4
B. Hall struck out 12 batters as the hurler led Tug Valley past visiting Shelby Valley 13-4 on Senior Night, April 30 in Naugatuck. She gave up six hits and four runs over six innings while walking none in the circle.
Hall, the lone senior on the roster, had three extra-base hits in four at-bats in the win. She hit a solo home run to center field in the fourth inning, doubled in the second inning, and doubled in the first inning.

A single by Paisley Bolyard of the Panthers scored the first run in the bottom of the first.
Tug Valley extended their early lead with four runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI doubles by Hall, Bolyard and Katie Hall.
Tug Valley added to their lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning thanks to home runs by Hall, Hall and Emma Lackey.
Katie Hall went 3-for-3, also with a double and two RBIs. Bolyard was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and three runs knocked in.
Bryleigh Fletcher was 2-for-3 at the plate. Her two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning was in game-ending and walk-off fashion as Tug Valley mercy ruled the Lady Kats.
Chelsea Holbrook took the loss for Shelby Valley. The starting pitcher went 5 1/3 innings, surrendering 13 runs (11 earned) on 13 hits, striking out five and walking three.
The Lady Panthers piled up 13 hits in the game. B. Hall and K. Hall each collected three hits for Tug Valley.
K. Hall provided pop in the middle of the lineup for Shelby Valley with two runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day.
Tug Valley 5, Westside 0
The Lady Panthers shut out the Westside Lady Renegades 5-0 on the road in Clear Fork, May 1.
Bailee Hall had three hits in four at-bats, as she singled in the first inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.
Emma Lackey struck out 15 batters on the day. The flame-throwing pitcher only surrendered two hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking three.
Tug Valley opened the scoring in the first after a passed ball enabled them to score one run.
The Lady Panthers added two runs in the second after Westside dropped a third strike.
Shannon took the loss for the Renegades.
Gracie Hynd and Paisley Bolyard each drove in one run for Tug Valley.

Chapmanville 10, Tug Valley 3
The Lady Panthers could not keep up with Class 3A Chapmanville, falling 10-3 at home April 27.
The game was close, but the Lady Tigers of CRHS scored four runs in the sixth inning to get some breathing room.
Zoey Noe-Chaney earned the win for Chapmanville in the circle. The starter gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking three.
Emma Lackey took the loss for Tug Valley. The sophomore pitcher went five innings, giving up 10 runs (7 earned) on 7 hits, striking out 10 and walking four.
Bailee Hall and Lackey each collected two hits for the Lady Panthers. Hall, a senior, belted her 11th homer of the season. Katie Hall also had a hit for TVHS.
Megan Brown went 2-for-4 on the day for the Lady Tigers with 3 RBIS. Evy Altizer led Chapmanville with three hits. Lusk collected two hits for the Tigers in four at-bats.
Tug Valley came into the week ranked No. 2 in Class A in West Virginia.
Mingo Central 1, Tug Valley 0
Mingo Central nipped Tug Valley 1-0 in a low-scoring game that saw both teams get only one hit April 28 on Miner Mountain.
Both pitchers were strong in the circle but the Lady Miners got the win against their county rival.
Bailee Hall started the game for the Panthers and recorded 12 outs. She got the lone hit for her team, a double.
Mingo Central got on the board in the third inning, scoring the only run. A bunt by Kylie Dotson was key to getting the run across the plate. Erica Farley got the only hit for the Lady Miners and scored the one run.
Aubrey Plummer earned the win for Mingo Central. The hurler gave up only one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 15 and walking one.
Hall took the loss for Tug Valley. The right-handed pitcher went four innings, giving up one run (zero earned) on one hit, striking out eight and walking one. Emma Lackey came on in relief of Hall.
