BOONEVILLE — Martin County Lady Cards snapped a five-game losing streak May 2 sweeping Owsley County 11-0 and 18-4 in Booneville.
Alyssa Mullins tossed a four-inning shutout in the opener. The University of Pikeville signee struck out six to lead the Lady Cardinals.

At the plate, Bri Muncy paced the offense with three singles. She hit in two runners and crossed home plate twice. Haleigh Smith belted out three singles, one RBI and scored twice.
Makenna Marcum reached base with a walk and a single, drove in a run and scored twice. Mia Fields contributed a single and an RBI. Mullins added an RBI and scored once.
Jayla Savage walked and blasted an inside-the-park home run, driving in a run and scoring once. Bella Muncy drew two walks and scored once, and Laken Blevins walked and crossed the plate.
The Lady Cardinals carried that momentum into Game 2, erupting for 18 runs to complete the sweep.

Muncy led the charge with an inside-the-park home run. She stuffed the stat sheet with two singles, a walk, a stolen base and four runs scored. Marcum singled, drew three walks, stole a base and scored four times.
Muncy doubled and added two singles. She tacked on three runs on the scoreboard. Fields turned in a big performance with a double, a single and four RBIs, along with two runs scored.
Mullins collected three singles, stole a base and scored twice. Savage tripled, walked, drove in a run and scored once.
Smith added a single, drew a walk and scored once. Kiley Wright walked and scored once. Aaliyah Moore contributed a single.

Mullins also earned the win in the circle in Game 2, striking out two and allowing four runs over four innings.
Martin County returns to action May 6 at Betsy Layne at 6 p.m. The Lady Cards travel for a 57th District matchup with Magoffin on May 7 before returning home May 8 to host Floyd Central. They begin next week with a game at Fairview on May 11.
