The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 12 said paint striping operations are about to begin across multiple counties as part of ongoing roadway maintenance to improve visibility and safety.
Crews will work in mobile work zones, moving throughout each county on various state routes. Striping operations will intermittently affect all lanes of traffic as equipment advances along the roadway.
The work schedule, weather permitting, is as follows:
- Pike County: May 10-May 30
- Martin County: May 31-June 6
- Lawrence County: June 7-June 20
- Johnson County: June 21-July 4
- Floyd County: July 5-July 18
- Knott County: July 19-Aug. 1
- Letcher County: Aug. 2-Aug. 14
Daily work hours are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Motorists should expect slow-moving operations and possible short delays, officials said.
Crews will use mobile traffic control, including cones and signs, to guide traffic through work zones.
District 12 urged drivers to stay alert, slow down and use caution when approaching and traveling through work zones.
