Tug Valley Lady Panthers sweep three at home, topple No. 2 Sherman

NAUGATUCK, W.Va. — Tug Valley Lady Panthers protected their home field with three straight wins. The ladies beat Westside 10-2 on April 13, toppled No. 2-ranked Sherman 10-2 on April 14 and shut out Tolsia 15-0 on April 15 behind strong pitching, timely power and a breakout stretch from Paisley Bolyard, Emma Lackey and Gracie Hynd.

Gracie Hynd smacked three hits going 3-for-3 as Tug Valley shut out Tolsia 15-0, April 15 in Naugatuck.

Hynd had a trio of singles to help the Lady Panthers pick up another win.

Tug Valley jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after an error, a Bailee Hall double, Hynd’s base hit and a Bryleigh Fletcher single, bringing home two runs.

The Lady Panthers scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the second inning. An error scored two runs, Hynd singled for another run, and Caylee Steele doubled to drive in two runs.

Tug Valley scored five more runs on three hits in the bottom of the third inning.

B. Hall earned the pitching win for Tug Valley. She gave up three hits and no runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none.

K. Salmons took the loss for Tolsia.

Hall and Steele each drove in four runs for the Panthers.

A. Lyons, Salmons and J. Keene each collected one hit for Tolsia.

Paisley Bolyard had three hits and Emma Lackey pitched another great game as the Lady Panthers of Tug Valley defeated No. 2-ranked Sherman 10-2 on April 14.

Bolyard, a catcher, doubled in the first inning and in the fifth inning and singled in the third frame.

Tug Valley, ranked No. 4 in Class A in the most recent poll, had a six-run rally in the fifth inning to build on an early lead. Caylee Steele doubled, bringing in a pair of runs. A Sherman error scored one more run, while Makayle Bryant grounded out and brought home a run. Bolyard doubled and got herself two RBIs.

The Lady Tide opened the scoring in the first after A. Smith laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.

The Lady Panthers captured the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the first after Bolyard doubled down the left field line.

Tug Valley added two runs in the third after Bailee Hall singled down the right field line on an 0-2 count.

Lackey earned the win for Tug Valley in the circle. The talented pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs (only one earned) over five innings, striking out nine with no walks.

Tagliente took the loss for Sherman. The starting pitcher went 4 2/3 innings, surrendering 10 runs on 10 hits, striking out five and walking two.

Tug Valley amassed 10 hits in the game. Hall and Lackey each collected multiple hits for the Lady Panthers.

The Tug Valley Lady Panthers defeated the Westside Renegades 10-2 on April 13 in Naugatuck.

Tug Valley got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning after Bailee Hall homered to center field, Emma Lackey singled down the left field line, and the Panthers scored on a passed ball.

The Lady Panthers added three more runs in the bottom of the third inning on two hits. Paisley Bolyard singled, scoring one run, and Katie Hall homered to center field, scoring two more runs.

Hall earned the win for Tug Valley. The starter surrendered just three hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out nine and walking one.

Paisley Shannon took the loss for Westside. The starter went four innings, surrendering 10 runs (seven earned) on nine hits, striking out five and walking four.

Lackey pitched one inning of scoreless ball for the Panthers in relief. The righty surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking none.

Lackey provided pop in the middle of the lineup with three RBIs. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Hall, Bryleigh Fletcher and Lackey each collected two hits for Tug Valley. Hall stole two bases.
