Martin County High School softball picked up a 17-16 win over Fairview before dropping contests to Belfry and Johnson Central.

The Lady Cardinals earned one of their most thrilling wins of the season, outlasting Fairview in a 17-16 slugfest.
Martin County totaled 17 hits in the win, the most in a game this season.
Senior Bella Muncy had a huge performance with two hits and two home runs. She crossed home plate three times and batted in two Lady Cards.
Raegan Horn and Mia Fields anchored the lineup with matching 3-for-5 performances. Horn added a double, two runs and an RBI. Fields drove in two runs, made her way around the bases once and drew a walk.
Sophie Harless contributed two hits, a double, two runs and two RBIs. Hallee Preece added two hits and scored twice. She also assisted a Cardinal in scoring.
Eighth-grader Makenna Marcum finished with two hits and two runs scored. KarLee Gillman chipped in with a hit, two runs and an RBI.
Haley Robinson added two hits and an RBI. Brianna Muncy drove in a run.
Robinson, Harless, Tessa Gantt, and Bailey Parsons each stole a base for the Cards.
Robinson earned the win in the circle, pitching all seven innings. She allowed 16 runs (15 earned) on nine hits. She struck out seven and walked 16 in 84 pitches.

Martin County dropped a 6-3 decision to Belfry on April 7 in the 15th Region All “A” Classic.
Muncy led Martin County at the plate. She went 2-for-4 and scored a run.
Fields delivered a double and two RBIs.
Marcum, Robinson, Muncy and Alyssa Mullins each added a hit.
Muncy, Marcum, and Robinson each stole a base.
Mullins took the loss in the circle despite a solid outing. She allowed six runs (three earned) on five hits over six innings, with two strikeouts and three walks on 62 pitches.

Martin County fell to Johnson Central 16-0 on April 10 in a 57th District matchup.
No additional statistics were available for the game
The Lady Cards were scheduled to play at Paintsville on the road on April 14. The team hosts Betsy Layne at 6 p.m. April 15. Martin County travels to Elliot County on Saturday to play Elliott County and Powell County. They will visit Tolsia on April 28.
