Pike County grand jury indicts 16

PIKEVILLE  —  The Pike County grand jury returned indictments April 7 against 16 people on charges ranging from drug trafficking and DUI to stolen property, identity theft, weapons offenses and a first-degree sodomy count.

Isaac Chapman, 28, of Shelbiana, was indicted on two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of first-degree criminal mischief.

Jordan Clark, 30, of Marrowbone, has been indicted on two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of first-degree criminal mischief.

Edward Clay, 40, of Prestonsburg, stands accused of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, DUI third, third-degree fleeing/evading, driving suspended and no license plate.

Tommy Conley, 54, of Pikeville, has been indicted on charges of possession of handgun by felon, public intoxication, second-degree disorderly conduct and first-degree persistent felony offender.

Ira New, 60, of Freeburn, stands accused of first-degree trafficking in controlled substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, no brake lights, no seatbelts and second-degree persistent felony offender.

Hattie Duty, 47, of Phelps, stands accused of first-degree trafficking in controlled substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, no brake lights, no seatbelts and second-degree persistent felony offender.

Kevin Fleming, 45, of Fedscreek, was indicted on charges that include DUI fourth, DUI suspended first, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, no license plate and obstructed windshield.

Jeffrey Francis, 33, of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, stands accused of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Caitlyn Griffith, 27, of Shelbiana, has been indicted on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Cory Hall, 32, of Marion, North Carolina, was indicted on one count of first-degree sodomy.

Robert Corey Mullins, 39, of Elkhorn City, stands accused of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, DUI second and driving suspended first.

James Osborne, 63, of Harrisville, West Virginia, was indicted on charges of first-degree promoting contraband, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, DUI first, possession of drug paraphernalia, no license plate, failure to produce insurance card, failure to notify of address change, open container, no insurance and no/expired registration plates.

Linda Owens, 51, of Regina, stands accused of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, DUI first, speeding, failure to produce insurance card, and failure to notify of address change.

Jessica Spradlin, 39, of Paintsville, has been indicted on two counts of theft of identity and first-degree persistent felony offender.

Charles Swiney, 57, of Elkhorn City, was indicted on charges of possession of a handgun by felon, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, prescription not in proper container, DUI first and first-degree persistent felony offender.

Heath Young, 37, of Pikeville, was indicted on charges of first-degree fleeing/evading, driving DUI suspended first, resisting arrest and first-degree persistent felony offender.
