Pike County grand jury indicts 16

PIKEVILLE — The Pike County grand jury returned 16 true bills March 31.

Charges ranged from drug trafficking and strangulation to assault, burglary and other felony offenses.

Chester Akers, 38, of Jenkins, was indicted on one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Kamron Anderson, 26, of Pikeville, was indicted on charges of fourth-degree assault and first-degree strangulation.

Adam Bentley, 39, of Pikeville, was indicted on charges of first-degree promoting contraband, two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-offense DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia.

David Childers, 61, of Ashcamp, was indicted on charges of providing a false name to a police officer and resisting arrest.

Nicholas Coleman, 56, and Fatima Bennett, 29, both of Elkhorn City, were indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, theft of identity, driving on a suspended license, first-offense DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to surrender a suspended, canceled or revoked operator’s license.

Jason Grubb, 22, of Mouthcard, was indicted on charges of third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking and first-degree criminal mischief.

Jarrad Hicks, 41, of Pikeville, was indicted on multiple charges, including first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-degree criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, second-degree fleeing or evading police, driving on a suspended license and failure to surrender a license.

Teresa Holbrook, 51, of Pikeville, was indicted on charges of third-degree burglary, misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking and second-degree persistent felony offender.

Buffy Kender, 53, of Mouthcard, and Staci Watson, 44, of Fedscreek, were indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-offense DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper registration plate, no registration plates and driving without a license.

Teonna McNutt, 23, of Lick Creek, was indicted on charges of second-degree assault, first-degree promoting contraband and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Andy Osborne, 41, of Virgie, was indicted on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, no registration plates, first-offense driving on a suspended license, no seat belt and second-degree persistent felony offender.

Keegan Schoeff, 22, of Elkhorn City, was indicted on two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree (aggravated circumstances), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Curtis M. Wallace, 57, of Elkhorn City, was indicted on one count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

Staci Watson, 43, of Steele, was indicted on charges of first-degree criminal mischief, four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree persistent felony offender.

An indictment is an accusation. All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
