CITIZEN STAFF REPORT

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Jason Kenneth Fields

Jason Kenneth Fields, 41, of Inez, was arrested March 30 on New Route 3 in Davella on charges of possession of controlled substance, first degree (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives) and possession of controlled substance, first degree, first offense (methamphetamine).

According to Sheriff Kirk, Fields was observed sticking his hand outside the vehicle “as if dropping it on the ground.”

Kirk said he recovered aluminum foil and two plastic bags, one containing a crystal-like substance and the other a powder-like substance.

Fields allegedly stated one substance was methamphetamine and the other was fentanyl.

Clinton Randolf Raines

Clinton Randolf Raines, 58, and Melissa Carol Evans, 32, both of Tomahawk, were arrested March 30 on Rockhouse Road in Tomahawk, on a charge of assault, fourth degree (domestic violence), minor injury.

Sheriff Kirk responded to an altercation in progress on Rockhouse Road. He stated both Raines and Evans had been drinking alcohol when an argument began.

Evans allegedly told deputies Raines struck her in the face and head several times. Kirk said a witness, identified as Kelly Fletcher, also reported seeing Raines hit Evans.

Raines reportedly told police that Evans struck him in the mouth, busting his lip, and pushed over his motorcycle in an attempt to hurt him.

Kirk stated that both parties called 911 and both admitted they had hurt each other.

Tylar Harrison Harless

Tylar Harrison Harless, 28, of Warfield, was arrested March 28 in Warfield on charges of resisting arrest and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Deputy Jameson Wall was in the Dempsey Housing area when other officers advised that a civil disturbance was underway on Dempsey Circle.

When officers arrived, Harless allegedly began yelling at two females and refused commands to get into his vehicle, according to the arrest citation.

Wall said Harless resisted and attempted to pull away while officers were placing him in handcuffs. While being escorted to a cruiser, he allegedly pulled away again and had to be subdued.

Brandon L. Mullett

Brandon L. Mullett, 21, of Inez, was arrested March 26 at Quail Hollow in Inez, on a bench warrant from Floyd County for failure to appear.

Deputy Wall arrested Mullett at 6:35 p.m. after Mullett turned himself in, according to the police report.

All individuals are presume innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
