Community members can support student leadership development across the region by joining or sponsoring the third annual Rogers Scholars Golf Scramble on Wednesday, April 22, at Woodson Bend Resort.

Hosted by The Center for Rural Development, the fundraiser benefits the Rogers Scholars Program, which helps high school students build leadership, entrepreneurship and career-readiness skills through summer programming and mentorship opportunities.

Organizers are inviting businesses, civic groups, individuals and student teams to participate by entering a team or serving as an event sponsor.

The scramble will begin with a shotgun start at noon. A grab-and-go box lunch, provided by Karen’s Catering, will be available one hour before tee time.

“We invite businesses, individuals, high school or college students, and anyone else who wants to play in the Rogers Scholars Golf Scramble to organize a team or consider becoming a sponsor,” said Lonnie Lawson. “This is a great way to support the Rogers Scholars Program while enjoying a round of golf with friends.”

Team registration is $300 for a four-person team and $175 for school or college teams.

Sponsorships are available at multiple levels, including Title Sponsor at $2,000 and Hole Sponsor at $500. Sponsorship packages include a four-person team, hole selection, an 18-by-24-inch yard sign, promotional items in welcome bags and recognition in event marketing.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place, along with contests for longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt.
