CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Tug Valley Lady Panther seniors Bailee Hall and Haven Deskins were named to the first-team Class A All-State basketball team.
Members of the West Virginia Sports Writers Association vote on the All-State teams.
Katie Hall and Kylie DeBoard were named to the honorable mention All-State list.
B. Hall and Deskins, both seniors, helped Tug Valley to a fine 20-5 record this season.
B. Hall was the lone repeat selection on the first team. The senior Panther also averaged a double-double of 10.2 points and 14.9 rebounds to go with 2.3 steals and 1.4 assists. She led the state with her almost 15 rebounds per game. B. Hall has also been a first-team All-Stater in softball and will attend West Virginia State University on a softball scholarship this fall.
Deskins, last year’s second-team captain, earned a nod on the first team after averaging 13.2 points, 4 boards, 2.4 assists and 3.2 steals for the state semifinalists who fell to St. Marys in the state semi-finals.
Both Deskins and B. Hall were named to the all-tournament team at the state tourney.
K. Hall, a junior, and DeBoard, a sophomore, will return to help lead Coach Seth Ooten’s Lady Panthers squad next season.
