INEZ — A Martin County man drew a six-year prison sentence March 19 in Martin Circuit Court after pleading guilty to a fentanyl trafficking charge.

Henry Butcher, 27, of Lovely, received the sentence after pleading guilty Feb. 5, 2026, to first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (over 2 grams of fentanyl).

According to court records, the charge stemmed from an Aug. 7, 2024, incident in which police found Butcher in possession of 3.923 grams of fentanyl.

The case later moved through the grand jury indictment process Oct. 2, 2025.

During the sentencing last week, Martin Circuit Judge John Kevin Holbrook ordered that Butcher be delivered to the custody of the Kentucky Corrections Cabinet.
