
Seniors across the Big Sandy region can lace up their walking shoes and prepare for the 39th Annual Big Sandy Senior Games in May.
Hosted by the Big Sandy Area Development District, the event offers residents age 50 and older a chance to compete, connect and celebrate active living.
Bowling competition will take place May 8 at Bowl Rite Bowling Center in Prestonsburg. The remaining events will happper Friday, May 15, at the Dewey Lake Downstream Area.
Games include bowling, a mile walk, football toss, softball toss, horseshoes, basketball toss, free throw shooting, cornhole, shuffleboard, bingo, archery and mini golf.
The event is open to residents of Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, Martin and Pike counties who will be 50 or older by May 1.
Medals for first-, second- and third-place finishes in each event category. All competitions are for amateurs only.
Participants must return registration forms and the $15 entry fee to the Big Sandy Area Development District, 110 Resource Court, Prestonsburg, KY 41653, by April 7.
