Janice Dee (Albright) Jarrell Obituary

Janice Dee (Albright) Jarrell
1949—2026

Janice Dee (Albright) Jarrell, age 76, passed away Feb. 20, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 28, 1949, in Ogden, Utah, she was the youngest of 10 children of the late Marvin and Dorothy (Knight) Albright.

Jan was a graduate of Park University in Parkville, Missouri, earning two bachelor’s degrees, one in business management and the other in logistics. She worked as a program and data analyst for the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC), but started as a directorate secretary there. This often included her serving in the Command Office. She retired from DSCC after 30+ years of service. Jan was respected by her peers as well as all levels of leadership for her work ethic and positive demeanor.

In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Charles E. Jarrell; her daughter, Janeen; one brother and two sisters; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and precious friends.

Jan was highly involved in elementary and middle school activities, including serving as a creative room mother, lunch prep lady, and mentor to many of the young people she interacted with. She and Chuck were foster parents for a time.

There were so many things Jan enjoyed: working in her flower beds, tending to her houseplants, and reading. She was a perfectionist in all things, especially in her figurine painting. She was a huge help to her husband, Chuck, on several projects: they built a cabin together, added rooms, built a pole barn, a two-story garage, and more. She also loved nature, especially mountains, and enjoyed bird watching with her husband.

She will be missed tremendously by all those she touched.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospice of Central Ohio.

Visitation was Feb. 25 at Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, with service immediately after. Burial was Feb. 26 in Hode, Kentucky, at Jarrell Family Cemetery under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez. Rev. Derek Catron officiated the graveside service. Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home and Crum Funeral Home are honored to serve the family.
