Mingo County arrests

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Law enforcement agencies in Mingo County made several arrests in recent days on charges ranging from child sexual abuse material to grand larceny and assault.

Clinton Gene McNeely, 30, of Lyburn, was charged with possession of multiple images and videos of child sexual abuse material found on a computer. Deputies Tiller and Justice of the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department arrested him.

Authorities obtained a search warrant following an investigation that originated with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Cyber Tipline, which linked multiple files of child sexual abuse material to McNeely, according to investigators. The warrant was secured with assistance from the West Virginia State Police, including Cpl. S. P. Bowling. McNeely was arraigned in Mingo County Magistrate Court, where a $25,000 cash bond was set.

Brian Gregory Lyane, 31, of Baisden, was arrested on a charge of attempting to flee the state while on home confinement. Officer Danny Morris of the Home Confinement Office made the arrest.

William Harold Coleman, 56, was charged with failure to register a new address with the state’s sex offender registry. Trooper J. T. Kitts of the West Virginia State Police arrested him.

Renal Keith White, 48, of Ragland, was charged with driving on a suspended license revoked for DUI, improper registration and no proof of insurance. Trooper Kitts made the arrest after receiving a report of a stolen vehicle and initiating a traffic stop in the Matewan area, police said.

William Hendricks, 40, of Verner, was charged with grand larceny and computer fraud following an investigation conducted by Deputy M. Tiller of the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department.

Erica Rai Blankenship, 48, also of Verner, was charged in the same case. Both defendants face an additional charge of conspiracy to commit the crime, authorities said.

Jonathan Wesley Smith, 43, of Delbarton, was charged with assault and battery. Deputy Tiller arrested him following an incident at the One Stop gas station on Horsepen Mountain along U.S. 52.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
