BUCKHORN — Kentucky State Police troopers from Post 9 in Pikeville discovered the body of a missing Floyd County man Saturday, authorities said.

The officers found Phil Colley, 65, of McDowell, near a utility access road in the Buckhorn community. The Floyd County Coroner’s Office pronounced him deceased at the scene.

State police said the cause of death remains under investigation, but foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is scheduled at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort to determine the cause of death.

Earlier Saturday, KSP Post 9 issued a Golden Alert for Colley, seeking the public’s assistance in locating him. The alert stated that Colley was last seen Jan. 2 in the Ned’s Fork area of Frasure’s Creek.
