January is School Board Recognition Month and I would like to express my appreciation to the members of the Martin County Board of Education and recognize them for their service and dedication to the students of Martin County.
In Martin County, our community values a quality education as an important step along the pathway to success for our students, and our school board members are instrumental in this endeavor.
Martin County School Board members Mickey McCoy (chairman), Steven Gauze (vice chairman), Kathleen Price, James “Bowie Clark and Lorna Cassady contribute greatly to our community through their service on the Martin County Board of Education. These decision-makers are responsible for maintaining strong, effective budgetary oversight, high standards for employment and a safe, well-managed set of school facilities. They provide leadership and governance to our local school district.
All members of our board support our schools and serve our community with integrity and a commitment to our children’s futures. They give freely of their personal time to the Martin County School District. Their outstanding service is demonstrated by their commitment to governance and establishment of quality educational opportunities within our district.
I would like to thank each member for their invaluable leadership on the Martin County Board of Education. I would also like to encourage all citizens of Martin County to honor and thank each of these individuals for their service and support to our students, teachers, staff and community.
Sincerely,
Larry James
