Lady Panthers crush Hillbillies 68-13

NAUGATUCK, W.Va. — The Lady Panthers played the Man Lady Hillbillies in the annual Kaydence Maynard Memorial Classic at the TVHS gym on Friday, Dec. 27.

Tug Valley, ranked No. 3 in Class A, crushed Man 68-13. The Lady Panthers led 60-7 at halftime and cruised in the second half.

Kenzie Browning led the way for Tug Valley with 17 points. Haven Deskins scored 15, Kylie DeBoard added 11, Bailiee Hall seven and Katie Hall six.

Coach Seth Ooten played his entire roster quality minutes in the game. Several players got into the scorebook as A. Messer, M. Bryant, R. Porter and M. Pilkins each scored two points.

K. Hall led the Lady Panthers with seven rebounds, while B. Hall pulled down six in a balanced effort.

Tug Valley improved to 6-2 on the season. This is already more wins than they had in the entire regular season last year.

This week TVHS will host Van, travel to Man and then host Westside in a full slate of games.

Summers County Holiday Tourney

The Lady Panthers split a pair of games in the Summers County Holiday Tourney losing in their opener 48-46 but winning in the consolation game 59-43.

Haven Deskins hit a pair of 3-pointers in the Summers County game and led Tug Valley with a 16-point effort. Kenzie Browning also broke into double digits in scoring with 14 points.

Bailee Hall had seven points and 14 rebounds for Tug. Katelynn Richardson had six, Kylie DeBoard two and Katie Hall had one point. Richardson’s points came on a pair of three-pointers.

Avery Lilly led Summers County with 18 points. Hadley Bennett drained three 3-pointers and netted 13 points.

Three Tug Valley players reached double digits in scoring in the win over Pocahontas County as Browning poured in 17 points, Bailee Hall had 15 and Deskins tallied 14. Browning connected on three 3-pointers in the game.

Katie Hall finished with eight points and DeBoard scored five.

Bailee Hall had a double-double in the game, also grabbing 15 rebounds.
