Jean H. Maddox
1932—2024

Jean H. Maddox, 91, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

Born July 27, 1932 in Martin County, she was the daughter of the late McClellon Horn and Hattie Goble Horn.

Jean was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church.

She retired after 17 years of teaching business classes at Owensboro High School and Owensboro Catholic High School.

 In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Dr. Noel “Buddy” Maddox, on Nov. 5, 2021, and their only child, Kim Maddox Lavery, on Nov. 27, 2023.

 Survivors include her sister, Audrey Hall; nephews, Larry Ray, Steve Ray and Kelly Ray; son-in-law, Tom Lavery; seven great-nieces and nephews; four great-great-nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted Sunday, July 7, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial was Monday in Elmwood Cemetery.
