Lady Cards tennis hooks Pirates 6-1

PIKEVILLE — The Martin County Lady Cards tennis team secured a commanding 6-1 victory over the Belfry Lady

Pirates in a match held April 22 at Bob Amos Park in Pike County.

Two-seed Lexie Sammons battled to secure a hard-fought 8-6 victory in her singles set.

Dakota Ward won her singles in dominating fashion 8-3.

Martin County won two out of three sets, setting the stage for doubles play.
The Lady Cardinals continued to outperform the Pirates on the courts. One-seed duo Tamara Workman and Caitlyn Horn delivered a solid performance to secure an 8-4 victory in their set.

Two-seed partners Chloe Alley and Dakota Ward clinched an 8-3 win in their doubles set.

No. 3 seed pair Lexie Sammons and Dakota Ward secured an 8-0 victory in their doubles match.

Four-seed Chloe Alley and Caitlyn Horn sealed an impressive 8-0 victory in their set.
