LOUISA — A Martin County man was arrested early Friday morning for allegedly hitting his girlfriend’s young daughter.

Kentucky State Police Post 14 in Ashland dispatched a trooper to the Three Rivers Medical Center, Louisa, to interview the child about an incident that occurred on Staton Hollow in Tomahawk.

The girl told the trooper that Kevin Michael Litton, 35, of Tomahawk, argued with her because she took “one of his pops.” She stated that Litton told her, “Come here, I have a surprise for you,” then held her on the ground and began to strike her with an open hand on her face.

According to the police report, nurses at the hospital all stated that the child’s injuries were consistent with physical abuse.

Litton told the trooper that he and the juvenile were “playing WWE,” and when he pinned her, he accidentally hit her in the face with an open hand.

Litton faces a charge of first-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12.
