FRENCHBURG — The Martin County Lady Cards routed the Menifee County Wildcats 35-8 in five innings Saturday in Frenchburg.

Martin County got on the board first, scoring four runs in the first inning behind singles by Kaylee Endicott and Hallee Preece.

The Lady Cards added seven runs in the second. Keilian Jewell’s single drove in two, while Haley Robinson’s double drove in one.

Menifee scored one run in the first inning and four in the second.

The Lady Cards padded their lead to 18-5 in the third, scoring seven runs behind hits by Jewell, Robinson, Alyssa Mullins and Raegan Horn.

Following a pitching change by Menifee County in the top of the fifth, Martin County blew the game apart. The Lady Cards scored 17 runs to seal the win.

Alyssa Mullins toed the mound for Martin County, giving up five hits and eight runs while striking out seven.

Jewell doubled, singled and drove in six runs for Martin County. Haley Robinson doubled, singled and drove in five runs. Bella Muncy, Hallee Preece and Horn added two singles each. Mullins, Endicott and Bella Robinson all singled.

Robinson stole three bases, Endicott and Muncy stole two apiece, and Sophie Harless and Preece each stole one.
