Lady Cards fall to East Ridge

PIKEVILLE — Martin County lost a tough challenge to the East Ridge Lady Warriors 16-6 on the road April 1.

The Lady Warriors scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning, followed by three in the bottom of the third, to take a 5-0 lead.

The Lady Cards rallied to score three runs in the top of the fourth to narrow the deficit to 5-3.

Martin County added three runs in the fifth to take a 6-5 lead behind hits by Addison Duncan and Haley Robinson.

The momentum shifted in the bottom of the fifth as East Ridge exploded for five runs, regaining the lead 10-6.

The Warriors scored six in the bottom of the sixth to set the final score.

Alyssa Mullins took the loss for Martin County. She gave up eight hits and 16 runs while striking out three and walking eight.

Savannah Baldridge won the mound for East Ridge. Baldridge gave up eight hits and six runs, striking out 11.

Hallee Preece hit a double and two singles for Martin County. Haley Robinson went 2-for-3 at the plate, including two doubles, and drove in two runs. Kaylee Endicott, Mullins and Duncan each recorded singles and Raegan Horn belted a triple.
