Floyd County man faces 16 felony child porn charges

PRINTER — The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Matthew D. Williams, a 38-year-old man from Floyd County, on 16 felony charges related to child pornography.

The arrest took place March 26 at Williams’ residence in Printer.

The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigation began when authorities detected Williams uploading sexually explicit images of minors to a social media account.

On March 26, police executed a search warrant at Williams’ home, confiscating equipment he allegedly used to commit these crimes.

Williams faces seven counts of possessing material depicting a minor under the age of 12 in a sexual performance and seven counts of distributing such material, both classified as Class-C felonies with potential penalties of five to 10 years in prison. Additionally, he is charged with one count each of possessing and distributing material depicting a minor between the ages of 12 and 18 in a sexual performance, considered Class-D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison.

He was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
