Continuing an exciting time for Martin County High School, Kennadi Mollett, a dedicated and versatile two-sport athlete, has officially committed to cheer at the next level for the University of Pikeville.

Mollett, known for her hard work, has successfully juggled the demands of both basketball and cheer during her high school career. A valuable asset to Martin County High School, Mollett has been an integral part of the Lady Cards basketball team for four years and has cheered for two years.

The University of Pikeville’s head cheer coach, Jeannie Stone, recognizing Mollett’s exceptional qualities as an athlete and a person, wasted no time extending an offer to her. Stone eagerly welcomed Mollett to the Upike cheer team, impressed by her hard work and dedication.

Mollett shared, “Cheerleading has always been a part of who I am. It has always been something I wanted to do at the next level. I would like to thank everyone who made this opportunity possible for me, and I am very blessed to receive this opportunity to cheer at Upike.”

One of Mollett’s basketball coaches, Boo Newsome, had high praise for the accomplished athlete.

“Kennadi is a fantastic kid who is dedicated and works hard at everything she does,” Newsome commented. “She is not only a great athlete but an incredible person. She is a leader on and off the floor, which shows in everything she does. Upike is getting a great addition to their team and school.”

The official signing ceremony for Kennadi Mollett is set to take place in the coming weeks.
