Kentucky State Police investigates mysterious death in Floyd County

DRIFT — In a developing story from Floyd County, the Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post is investigating a death in the Drift community.

On Tuesday evening, Kentucky State Police were alerted to a situation involving a deceased male on Drift Hollow Road.

Responding to the call received at 9:57 p.m., KSP investigators found 64-year-old James Osborne, a resident of Minnie, lifeless and outside his vehicle.

Osborne’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The cause of death remains a mystery.

The Kentucky State Police is urging anyone with knowledge about the case to contact them at 606-433-7711.

Detective Mahala Lewis is spearheading the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by personnel from Kentucky State Police Post 9.
