Six of eight indictments in Martin County involve methamphetamine

INEZ — A Martin County grand jury returned indictments Thursday against eight individuals for multiple crimes, with six of the eight indictments involving methamphetamine-related charges.

Jeremy Jarvis, 25, of Inez, stands accused of third-degree burglary and second-degree persistent felony offender. The indictment alleges Jarvis, previously convicted of a felony, entered the Wolf Creek Community Church with the intent to commit criminal trespass Nov. 16. Jarvis’ bail is $5,000.

Brian Howell, 44, of Inez, faces charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession or use of drug paraphernalia. Howell allegedly had methamphetamine and an altered glass pipe July 8. Howell’s bail is $5,000.

Carmel Stacy, 43, of Debord, faces a charge of first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine). The indictment accuses Stacy of having methamphetamine July 8. His bail is $5,000.

The grand jury indicted Jordan Delong, 20, of Lovely, for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and endangering the welfare of a minor. The indictment alleges Delong had methamphetamine Aug. 31. It also alleges that as a parent, guardian or person legally charged with the care and custody of a minor, he failed to exercise diligence in the control of the child to prevent the child from becoming a neglected, dependent or delinquent child. His bail is $5,000.

Haskell B. Mills, 43, of Inez, faces multiple charges: first-degree trafficking (over 2 grams methamphetamine) firearm enhancement; first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (less than 2 grams cocaine) firearm enhancement; drug paraphernalia; and failure to or improper signal. The indictment states Mills had 27.413 grams of methamphetamine,12.57 grams of cocaine, $1,687 cash, digital scales, pill crushers/grinders and altered pipes June 1. It also alleges Mills intended to traffick the methamphetamine and cocaine while in possession of two handguns and a rifle. The grand jury accuses him of failing to give a proper signal while operating a motor vehicle on a Kentucky roadway. His bail is $10,000.

Johnny Moore, 53, of Warfield, is facing charges of first-degree trafficking (over 2 grams methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia. The indictment states Moore had two baggies containing approximately 5.912 grams of methamphetamine, $574 cash, digital scales and a large bag containing small individual plastic baggies with the intent to traffic the methamphetamine June 6. It accuses him of having multiple altered pipes containing chemical residue. His bail is $10,000.

Christopher Maynard, 38, of Inez, stands accused of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance, no registration plates, and no/expired registration plates. The indictment states Maynard, previously convicted of a felony in Floyd County, had a Taurus brand 9mm caliber handgun May 31. His bail is $10,000.

Angel D. Mollett, 22, of Inez, faces charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, endangering the welfare of a minor, and second-degree disorderly conduct. The indictment states Mollett had methamphetamine Aug. 31. It also states that as a parent, guardian or person legally charged with the care or custody of a minor, Mollett failed to exercise diligence to prevent that child from becoming a neglected, dependent or delinquent child. The grand jury accuses Mollett of engaging in violent or threatening behavior in a public place to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm. Circuit Judge John Kevin Holbrook issued a summons requiring Mollett’s appearance at 10 a.m. Jan. 4, 2024, for arraignment in Martin Circuit Court.

An indictment is an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
