HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Martin County Lady Cards volleyball team had a unique opportunity to witness a Division I college volleyball showdown Saturday at Marshall University’s Cam Henderson Center.

Accompanied by Martin County coach Krista Newsome, the team gathered to watch Marshall University’s Thundering Herd face off against Troy.

Both teams displayed impressive athletic skills, leaving the high school athletes in awe.

Despite the Thundering Herd’s loss to Troy in four sets that day, their season record now stands at 10-10.

The Lady Cards left the match with a memorable experience.

Coach Newsome described the outing as a valuable team bonding time.

Martin County varsity starter Raegan Horn said, “It was a great experience to share with my teammates. Marshall was the perfect choice because they know how to play together. We learned a lot by watching.”
