MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. — While family members have taken to social media trying to locate a missing Martin County man, he is also being sought by authorities on a felony warrant.

Kentucky State Police Post 9 Pikeville obtained a warrant for the arrest of 34-year-old Dustin Newsome of Debord.

The specifics regarding the charges on the warrant remain undisclosed.

Family members began reporting Newsome missing on social media after his vehicle was found deserted along U.S. 52-Tolsia Highway last week by the Wayne County Detachment of the West Virginia State Police. His personal belongings, including his phone and wallet, were still inside the car.

Rumors that a close family member might have been in contact with the missing man and confirmed his safety could not be verified.

Law enforcement did not comment on the family’s missing person campaign.

Newsome was working as a mail carrier for Lawrence County at the time of his disappearance.

Anyone with information about Newsome’s whereabouts can call the KSP at 606-433-7711, the Martin County Sheriff’s Department at 606-298-2828 or 911.

This story is still unfolding. Stay tuned for updates.
