INEZ — Community members received a fresh bounty of approximately 10 bushels of green beans and a generous serving of tomatoes Saturday morning, thanks to His Garden’s distribution at the Turkey Creek Church of the Nazarene.
The distribution marked the commencement of His Garden’s efforts to share the produce with the community for the second summer in a row.
Speaking about the event, Pastor Derek Catron said, “Our first distribution could not have gone any better. We were able to bless several people.”
Pastor Catron was especially thankful to the supporters and volunteers who worked behind the scenes.
The community can anticipate more in the coming days as Pastor Catron teased about another distribution.
“Be watching for details for another distribution in 10 days or so for tomatoes and most likely more beans,” he announced.
His Garden is a partnership with the church, University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, Martin County Cooperative Extension, and Grow Appalachia.
